Tracking MRR and ARR on the HubSpot Subscription Record

Recurring revenue is the number every SaaS team lives by — but it usually lives in Stripe, far from where GTM teams work. We bring it onto the HubSpot subscription record.

Where the numbers come from #

For each subscription, we normalize its recurring items to a monthly figure and write stripe_mrr, then derive stripe_arr (MRR × 12). Canceled subscriptions resolve to zero. Per-item billing intervals (monthly, annual, weekly) are all normalized consistently.

What you can do with it #

Once MRR/ARR are properties on the record, they’re first-class in HubSpot:

  • Report on MRR by owner, segment, or product.
  • Trigger an expansion play when MRR increases.
  • Sort your book of business by ARR.

Beyond the headline numbers #

The subscription also carries status, billing cadence, churn reason, payment history, processor, and currency — everything a renewal or expansion motion needs. See the example reports you can build with it.
